October News
We have had six birthdays this month. The names of the
people who had their birthdays were Nabeel, Denali, Naya, Willem, Lilly and
Alex.
It is two days away from Halloween. On Wednesday, the 31st
we are going to have a Halloween party!
We had a lesson on leaves, a lesson on North America and a
lesson on parts of a line. We did our Who Am I? stories. We are learning how
to tell time. The second years are learning cursive.
We have a Student of the Week instead of Show and Tell.
The Student of the Week can bring in something they want to share. They are
special for the whole week. They also get to tell about their life.
We have done lots of neat things on October!
Happy Halloween!

Our Class
Our class does a lot of things. The first lesson we had this year was the God
with No Hands lesson. We learned about liquids, solids and gases in this lesson.
We went outside at the end so the teachers could do a demonstration on a
plastic, exploding volcano. This is because the earth used to be covered in
volcanoes.
The next thing we did was the Black Strip lesson. The Black Strip shows us
how old the earth is and how long humans have been around.
Then we did the Needs of a Plant experiment. We did this experiment to learn
what plants need. Our experiment was putting seeds in different places and
seeing how they would grow.
Another lesson was the geometric solids lesson. We did this to learn about
the different solids.
We sadly said goodbye to Natalya who left for Sweden on Saturday.
We have a wonderful class and are everyone is busy settling into the busy
routine of our Lower Elementary classroom.

P.S. Many thanks to all of our wonderful parents who have supported our class
already with your time and energy - such a blessing to have your support!
