January 2008

Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year with your families.

This month we will be talking about winter and cold. We will learn about cold weather animals and experiment with snow and ice.

On Tuesday, January 22 at 7 pm, the school will be hosting “Taking the Next Step”, an informational evening. If your child will be three before December, you should plan on attending. You will be able to meet the Primary teachers and learn about the program that your child will be moving to next.

Parent Conferences are Thursday, January 31 and Friday, February 1. Sign-up sheets are posted on the classroom door.

Happy Birthday Daniel (9th) and Emma (24th).

Please remember to send cold weather clothing with your child, including hats, gloves, and boots. You may leave an extra set of cold weather clothing at school if you like. Also please remember to label ALL clothing and foot wear. This will help to insure that your child returns home with all his/her belongings.

Look for these upcoming February events:

Thursday    7th       Embracing Diversity  9-10 am

     Friday        8th      Montessori 101           9-10 am

Sunday       10th    Open House                1-3 pm

     Friday        15th    PTSA International Festival

As always, I am available for your questions by way of e-mail, phone or just stop by.

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Greetings Parents & Friends,

November is a special time of the year for most families.  We are celebrating Thanksgiving and preparing for the coming holidays.

Let us take time with our children to reflect on the many things that we are thankful for. Most of us will think of all the material things that we have a house, a car and food and clothing. But let us not forget happiness, peace, and the hope we have in Christ Jesus. May you and your family have a heartfelt Thanksgiving.

With the weather getting colder, you will want to check your child’s change of clothing drawer to make sure they have the proper attire. Remember that we go outside everyday to play, so please make sure your child has a jacket. Also, make sure all clothing is labeled with your child’s name.

Picture retake day is Nov. 13th if you haven’t had your child’s picture taken. Forms are available in the office.

The PTSA Book Fair is November 15th through the 21st. It will be held in the gym. Make sure to stop by and check it out.

We will be celebrating Thanksgiving on Tuesday, November 20th. A sign-up sheet will be posted on the door for those that would like to donate. Details to follow. We have a half day on Wednesday, November 21st. You will need to pick up your child at 11:30. Daycare is available for the afternoon for those who sign up. A sign-up sheet will be on the classroom door. Also as a reminder there will be no school on Thursday, November 22nd and Friday, November 23rd.

October Newsletter

Fall is here! The leaves are falling, the smell of apples is in the air and the temperature is dropping. We are very excited about all the wonderful things fall has to offer.

We are learning about the leaves changing colors through painting & crunching. Apples are on our list of things to explore, smelling, tasting, painting with, songs and more. Pumpkins and all kinds of gourds will be cut open and explored, smelled, tasted and touched. We will also be making pumpkin muffins!

Happy Birthday, Mireia, on October 31st.

We have started gym. The children really enjoy it and Mrs. Scott, the Gym teacher. Please remember gym shoes for your child every Wednesday.

Parent Conferences are October 26th and 27th. A sign-up sheet is posted on the door.

With the weather getting colder, you will want to check your child’s change of clothing drawer to make sure they have the proper attire. Remember that we go outside everyday to play, so please make sure your child has a jacket. Also, make sure all clothing is labeled with your child’s name.

Our Harvest Celebration will be at the end of the month. Check your child’s folder for more information and the door for a sign-up sheet.
