Toddler Teaching Assistants
Go Like the Wind Montessori School has several positions available for qualified applicants who have a passion for assisting children to reach their potential.
These positions require Monday through Friday availability.
The successful applicants will provide care and guidance for young children. Daily, the staff provides various recreational/educational activities for the students, including games, arts and crafts, baking, sports, and nature walks. Light cleaning and maintenance of the room is expected, along with diapering and assist in feeding children.
Positions Available:
· Toddler Assistant - Part time, 3 pm to 6 pm. Immediate start date
· Toddler Assistant - Full time, 10 am to 6 pm. June 1, 2012 start date
· Toddler Assistant - Full time, 9 am to 5 pm. June 1, 2012 start date
Salary/Benefits: The hourly rate is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience. Part time positions do not qualify for the school’s benefit package.
All positions require:
· Must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate.
· Experience working with children in child care environment.
· Submit to a criminal background investigation including digital fingerprinting.
Desired qualifications:
· College coursework in Early Childhood Education.
· Previous employment in a professional child care setting.

Position: After School Assistant –Two positions open
Status: Hourly part time – Year round
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 3 pm to 6 pm.
General Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Director of Afterschool Programs, the applicants will provide care and guidance for preschool and /or school-age children. Daily, the staff provides various recreational/educational activities for the students, including games, arts and crafts, baking, sports, and nature walks. Light cleaning and maintenance of the program areas is expected.
Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate. Previous child care employment is required. Previous work experience with preschool/school age children is preferred. The qualified applicants must be sensitive, mature, and able to relate well to both children and adults. Since the position is working with young children, the applicant must be comfortable sitting on the floor for periods of time and going outside to the playground on a daily basis.
Salary/Benefits: The hourly rate is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience. The positions do not qualify for the school’s benefit package.
Important Note: As a school and daycare provider licensed by the State of Michigan, all prospective employees are required to have a criminal background check (state and FBI), including digital fingerprinting. Only those who pass will be offered employment at our school.
