After School Assistant in our Educare (After School) program
Status: Hourly part time – School year /year round (including our upcoming summer program)
Schedule: Currently the position available is 11am to 6pm, Monday – Friday.
General Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Director of Afterschool Programs, the applicants will provide care and guidance for preschool and /or school-age children. Daily, the staff provides various recreational/educational activities for the students, including games, arts and crafts, baking, sports, and nature walks. Light cleaning and maintenance of the program areas is expected.
Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate. Previous child care employment is required. Work experience with preschool/school age children is preferred. The qualified applicants must be sensitive, mature, and able to relate well to both children and adults. Since the position is working with young children, the applicant must be comfortable sitting on the floor for periods of time and going outside to the playground on a daily basis. In addition, the applicant must be able to work Monday through Friday without exception.
Salary/Benefits: The hourly rate is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience.

AMS Certified Lower Elementary Teacher
Go Like the Wind Montessori School is seeking an experienced and AMS certified Lower Elementary teacher to co-teach in a classroom of 24 students ages 6 to 9. This full-time position is for the Fall 2013 school year. The teacher will work closely with their co-teacher and the rest of the Lower Elementary team to plan and implement our curriculum.
We are seeking individuals who have a commitment to the high standards of Montessori education and a desire to guide children to reach their full potential. The ideal candidates will be passionate about the success of their students, strong communicators and ambassadors for Montessori education.
Just minutes from downtown Ann Arbor, our campus is comprised of 40 beautiful acres, including our 15-acre Nature Center for outdoor education. Our school serves children from infants through 8th grade and currently has an enrollment of approximately 250 students. We have a wonderful staff of professionals that is dedicated to the Montessori method of education and our classrooms are well equipped with a full complement of Montessori materials.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and be Elementary 1 (lower elementary) certified through AMS or AMI. Additionally, qualified applicants must have 4 or more years teaching experience in a Lower Elementary Montessori classroom.

Toddler Teaching Assistants
Go Like the Wind Montessori School has several positions available for qualified applicants who have a passion for assisting children to reach their potential.
These positions require Monday through Friday availability.
The successful applicants will provide care and guidance for young children. Daily, the staff provides various recreational/educational activities for the students, including games, arts and crafts, baking, sports, and nature walks. Light cleaning and maintenance of the room is expected, along with diapering and assist in feeding children.
Positions Available:
· Toddler Assistant – Full time, 10 am to 6 pm. Immediate start date
· Toddler Assistant – Full time, 9 am to 5 pm. Immediate start date
Salary/Benefits: The hourly rate is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience. Part time positions do not qualify for the school’s benefit package.
All positions require:
· Must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate.
· Experience working with children in child care environment.
· Submit to a criminal background investigation including digital fingerprinting.
Desired qualifications:
· College coursework in Early Childhood Education.
· Previous employment in a professional child care setting.
