Doug Collier - Head of School

Mr. Collier joined Go Like the Wind Montessori School in 1996 working as the Assistant Head of School. In 1999, he became the new Head of School following the retirement of Karl Young, a co-founder of the GLTW.

Under Mr. Collier's leadership, the school has nearly doubled its enrollment and has expanded the scope of its programs, including the creation of the school's Infant and Toddler Communities and the addition of the Middle School programs.

Originally from California, Mr. Collier received his Bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University. He obtained a Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Eastern Michigan University.

Previously Mr. Collier held the position of production manager for an international manufacturer in the Golf industry. Prior to that appointment he was a director for a Boys and Girls Club in the San Diego area.

He and his wife, Rachel, have twins – a boy and a girl. His interests outside of the school include scuba diving, travel, reading, photography and drums. He is active with his church, where he volunteers his time and energy as part of the creative arts team.
