What People Are Saying
Hear From Our Parents and Alumni

"Values are very important to me because they set a standard for which people must achieve or even excel."
Go Like The Wind Montessori School takes each person's unique values and nurtures them while, at the same time, also letting the student grow. I now go to a boarding school in Culver, Indiana named Culver Military School. It was rather difficult to be accepted into the school, but I was determined to get in. Go Like The Wind (GLTW) teachers prepared me well for my journey emotionally, academically and spiritually. I believe that I have transitioned very well to Culver because of the support from GLTW as a supplement to the nurturing I have received from my family. At GLTW, my teachers were with me every step of the way with encouragement and guidance. The school was outstanding in preparing me to be a successful student at Culver where there is an emphasis on the whole student ...values, intellect and physical well being. I am extremely happy to have been a student at GLTW.

"GLTW has been the best investment in our children’s future and has made this experience so enjoyable for our whole family."
GLTW has done an amazing job of implementing the Montessori teaching methods in an environment that fosters child and family development in a warm, safe and inviting way. The Montessori teaching method provides a structure for both child and parent to grow with throughout each stage of the child’s education. The method not only addresses the academics but the full child development while keeping the parents informed and involved as desired. The child is led to self discover concepts so they understand the basic principles and continue to build on these rather than relying on memorization. They learn to plan and take on responsibilities for their work and environment. This process builds self esteem as they gain critical skills to help them succeed in all aspects of their life. This barely begins to describe the benefits of the Montessori teaching method and how thankful and appreciative we are of the way in which the staff at GLTW have help and shared in the growth of our children. GLTW has been the best investment in our children’s future and has made this experience so enjoyable for our whole family.

My son has achieved a greater depth of knowledge in more areas, while working at his own pace in the Montessori environment. The Montessori materials allow students with all types of learning styles to achieve their full potential. The layering process has helped to strengthen his knowledge, unlike his traditional educational experience, that only touched the surface of subjects before moving on. He is able to work independently, yet gain small and large group experiences as well. Peer support is outstanding. While some people may not understand Montessori methods, my son perceives his former years in a traditional setting as a strange way to learn. He has developed confidence in himself, leadership abilities, and a love of learning.

She had been going to school, but was not excited about school, whereas her younger sister loved school. Since attending GLTW she is excited about coming to school and what she is learning!

Our son has been at GLTW for three years now, and in that time we have never found ourselves disappointed with the treatment or attention that he has received from his teachers and peers. Should you choose to enroll your son or daughter at GLTW I can promise you the following:
- Your child will be working extremely hard in traditional academic subjects, such as writing, reading, science and mathematics.
- Your child will learn to take pride and a sense of ownership in the work that they complete and the projects they create.
- Your child will cultivate a deep and abiding respect for their classmates.
If, like us, you feel that the aforementioned are the cornerstones of any high-quality education then I can assure you that you have finally found a school whose values are in accord with your own.
Hope to see you in the Fall.

My daughter's experience as a first grader in lower elementary has been one of fascinating growth. The use of practical, concrete Montessori classroom tools has helped her develop a confident grasp of math and reading basics. It is clear that she is absorbing fundamental skills, not just memorizing for tests. And the mixed age environment has allowed her to see where those basics are leading and to challenge herself in interesting ways. The work expected in first grade is a considerable jump from kindergarten. But making that jump in an environment in which the materials and approach to learning were familiar seems to have made the jump a fun and exciting one. Most importantly, it is clear that the environment is constructed to facilitate her individual growth and success.
