Art Program

Your child will learn about famous artists, artworks, and art techniques in our art program. While they are encouraged to experiment and create art with a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, collage, fibers, printmaking, and 3D materials. Students continuously reflect on their artworks while creating new ways to problem solve using visual spacial relationships.

Especially relevant is that art is required for all of our students, starting with toddlers through 9th grade. Our art studio invites students to behave as artists and engage in meaningful art making. As a result, lessons in our art program inspire your child to experiment and create artwork from the knowledge gained about artists, artworks, and/or art techniques.

Your child will enjoy visual art lessons that incorporate various techniques and media. In addition, art history and appreciation are presented. Most often experienced as weekly enrichment classes, classroom study, and appropriate applications.

Our fine arts program is an important part of a holistic Montessori education. Your child will integrate their musical and artistic knowledge and skill to the on-going projects and use it as an avenue of self expression. Most of all, various courses of special interest such as pottery, mural art, drumming, and drama may be offered each cycle in a workshop format referred to as an elective at the middle school level.

“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the courage and the strength, use it to create.”
