(Ages 12 to 15)
The Go Like the Wind! Middle
School program reflects the Montessori philosophy, the newest research on early
adolescent development, current learning theories, and real-life skills. The
curriculum consists of math, language arts, speech, Spanish, physical education,
outdoor education, service learning and fine arts, all courses of continuous
progress. The sciences, social and geography studies and health curriculum are
theme based by concept. Every 6 weeks, students explore a new topic using a
multi-disciplinary approach that allows them to synthesize all of these subjects
into one valuable learning experience.
As they progress through the
school, Go Like the Wind! Middle School students become increasingly involved
with the community. They continue service projects within our school and the
broader Ann Arbor community (e.g. Sunrise Seniors Home and Make a Wish
Foundation), as well as rely on these communities as an educational resource.

Facing the American Middle School.

Middle
School Economics
We GLTW middle school students
are exploring the world of economics in an effort to fund our real world
expeditions. We use the profits from our businesses and fundraising to subsidize
our experiences. We offer a voluntary catered lunch program to staff and
students. We are in the process of establishing an eBay account to sell donated
items for profit. Fundraising choices include the high quality products of Sally
Foster gifts and wrap and Goodies Factory cookie dough. We hope to expand to
offer other items you, our families, would buy elsewhere anyway, and thus we are
providing a service and affording entrepreneurship opportunities and funding
Thank you for supporting us in our goal to become responsible respectful
citizens of the world.
